AZ UST Cleanup Program to Sunset 6/30/2010 On May 11, 2010, Arizona’s Governor Janice K. Brewer vetoed Senate Bill 1154. Among other things, this bill sought to extend the dates to apply for reimbursement from the Arizona State Assurance Fund (SAF) program by owners of eligible sites. Currently, all eligible UST cleanup reimbursement claims must be received by the SAF program by June 30, 2010 in order to be considered for payment by the Fund. The Governor has asked the Department of Environmental Quality to make specific recommendations as to whether the reimbursement program should be extended beyond June 30th, however, the next Legislative session isn’t scheduled until the Fall of 2010.
